Rook is a quiet unrefined man. He prefers solitude to social clamor, mostly due to his upbringing in the hill country in the north of Ardwen, but partially due to his feeling that he was somehow different. He feels more connected with Ardwen itself than with other people, though he never turns down the chance to help those around him. His family were trapper/gatherers (though educated) and would have been considered hermits if not for each other.
Rook was on a routine trip to Braemore for supplies and trade when he met the band adventurers looking for more help with Lady Duffington’s tasks. After discovering the Paths of Power and his destiny with the company of the black wagon and their torchbearers, Rook is starting to come into his own.
